Web search in chat, and @ commands#
- Models can now search the web when a question needs current information, and the reply lists its sources underneath.
- Type @ and pick Web search to make every reply search first. It works with your own provider keys too.
- Commands now open with @ instead of /. The old / still works.
- Chats open faster after a reload.

- The note that AI can make mistakes now sits at the bottom of every chat, in larger, clearer text.

The front page in eight languages, in light or dark#
- The front page, chat policy, and changelog switch between English, Chinese, Spanish, Japanese, French, German, Portuguese, and Arabic, and remember your choice.
- A light and dark switch sits in the top bar and matches the theme you picked in the chat.
- Each page has its own picture, and the policy has a short summary and a list of its sections.

Compact long chats, and memories#
- Type /compact to sum up a long chat and keep going. Chat also does it for you before a chat runs out of room, and you can undo it or compact again.
- Earlier messages stay on screen and in downloads after a chat is compacted.
- Chat remembers useful things about you across chats, like your name and preferences, and anything you ask it to remember or add with /remember. See, remove, or turn off memories with /memory.

- chat.freetheai.org has a public front page that plays short examples of Chat: switching models, attaching files, groups, your own keys, commands, and downloads.
- The chat policy explains plainly what is saved in your browser, what is sent to get a reply, and what applies to your own provider keys, and the Terms and Privacy Policy say the same.

- Put chats into groups from a chat's menu, and open or close each group in the sidebar.
- Long conversations open faster and stay smooth while a reply arrives, on phones too, even with many code blocks.
- Images are stored more compactly in your browser, and a model's thinking shows with its formatting.

- Replies, code, and menus use larger text, and buttons are easier to tap.
- On iPhone, text fields no longer zoom the page, and nothing sits under the home bar.

Attachments, downloads, and taking back a message#
- Attach photos, screenshots, PDFs, Word and PowerPoint files, and code with the paperclip, by dropping them on the message box, or by pasting. Chat tells you when a model cannot read images.
- Download any conversation as Markdown, a web page, plain text, JSON, or a spreadsheet.
- Take back your last message with Edit and resend: its text and attachments return to the box, where you can change or remove them and send again.
- Code in replies is colored by language, and each block names its language.
